Elaine Barrett is an American author of sweeping Scottish historical romances. After retiring from a long career as a librarian, she finally pursued her lifelong dream of writing love stories set against the haunting beauty of the Highlands.
Her fascination with Scotland began between the pages of the very books she once shelved. Stories filled with fierce lairds, wild landscapes, and loves that defied clan rivalries. Today, she weaves that same passion into every novel, capturing the emotion and tension.
Heather lives in Chicago, Illinois, with her husband, Bill, a history teacher who shares her love for Scotland. Though she’s happily traded card catalogs for character arcs, she still reads every night with a cup of tea in hand and Scotland on her mind.
